Will service be available in apartments?
We hope to connect everyone in Multi Dwelling Units (MDUs).
We have permits approved by the municipality to build in public easement, but we need permission from your landlord to build! In some buildings and properties, we have these! In other cases, we do not!
Please feel free to ask your landlord if they are interesting in providing us permission to build this infrastructure. Feel free to email us at info@CanadianFiberOptics.ca
Will there be poles in my back lane?
We had to design some of our network in Grande Cache using aerial infrastructure. This is not only because of the VERY difficult ground conditions in Grande Cache, but also because of the congestion that exists with the existing utilities.
There will still be many places in Grande Cache that have buried construction. And in fact, only ~50% of our fiber network will be above ground! We are doing everything we can to respect natural sight lines by burying where possible.
When can I expect your to start construction in my neighbourhood? Or when can I expect the installation to occur?
We have started residential construction select streets on Phase 1, and will be building through to “Condo Row”.
From there, we’re going to be building where ever there is most demand, so it’s VERY important to get your registration form submitted!
From the time you see poles erected in your alley (or digging equipment), installations will occur roughly 6 weeks after this timeframe.
